It is increasingly common to find people who have skin sensitivity problems. The sun, pollution, stress, poor diet and the use of inappropriate cosmetics are among the causes of the skin showing extreme sensitivity. At Toldos Guardamar, as a benchmark in advanced solar protection systems, we want to give you some advice, especially to avoid overexposure to the sun on the skin.

What are the symptoms of sensitive skin?

Excessive tightness, itching, redness, pimples, peeling, irritations, rashes, roughness to the touch … and in more severe cases, visible veins can form on the cheeks.

Types of skin sensitivity:

Natural: when it is from birth. You have thin and dry skin, which becomes red easily and you can suffer from pathologies such as couperose, dermatitis … which must be treated with the help of a dermatologist.

Reactive: when the skin reacts reddening to the sun, cold, wind, or an inappropriate aesthetic treatment.

Occasional: when it reacts at specific moments such as hormonal changes, stress, fatigue, poor diet…

Some tips for those delicate skin:

Protect yourself from the sun:

The sun’s rays are among the main responsible for sensitive skin, so it is important not to expose yourself to the sun between 12 and 17 hours, and not for more than half an hour continuously. Spending most of these hours under an awning with the quality of our acrylic canvases, which have a protection index against UVA rays of +80 (corresponding to 100% of the protection value) will save you problems and at the same time you will enjoy of the outdoor spaces of your home with the peace of mind that your health is not in danger.

Hydrate:

It is essential to maintain good hydration to improve the healthy appearance of the skin and protect it from external aggressions. At least 2 liters of water a day and more on the hottest days and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, foods rich in vitamins, minerals and water, will help you avoid fluid retention and keep your skin looking beautiful and healthy.

Avoid extreme environmental situations:

Both heat, dryness, and cold are the great enemy for sensitive skin. Avoid extreme situations, or otherwise, take the proper protections. Whenever you are going to be exposed to the sun, use adequate sun protection for your skin type and sensitivity.

Run away from stress and fatigue:

Sensitive skin reacts to stress and fatigue situations with breakouts and rashes, so our advice is that, if your skin is sensitive, avoid these situations as much as possible. The daily practice of any type of exercise outdoors, without going too far on your own shady terrace, can be very beneficial to keep your spirits up and stress away. Remember that whenever you practice physical exercises you must stay well hydrated and you will feel how the energy returns to your body, and life becomes much more beautiful.
